Event 16: Advanced Methods for the Simulation of Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

Document Actions
The aim of the workshop is to provide hands on training, based on practical projects on the application of advanced methods for solving hyperbolic conservation laws.

Hyperbolic conservation laws typically govern convection dominated problems: examples are aeronautical flows, two-fluid two-phase flows or shallow water flows. This workshop will be complementary to the lecture series event 12 and it will provide hands on training, based on practical projects. For unexperienced participants it will involve solving model problems (e.g. scalar conservation law) using the sophisticated methods teached in the training course (event 12). More experienced researchers (senior PhD’s or postdocs) will bring their own simulation project to the workshop and learn new techniques by sharing their experience with colleagues.

Fellowships
30 EU fellowships (25 Group 1 and 5 Group 2) are offered to young participants to attend the workshop.
