Event 14: High Order Methods for Large Scale Industrial Applications
The aim of the workshop is to gather some the state-of-the-art researchers working in the field of high order numerical methods for the simulation of large scale applications. Traditionally, wave propagation analysis widely benefited from the use of high order methods. On the practical ground, these computational techniques enable end-users to handle large computer models often lying beyond the capability of standard low-order methods. Two major application areas where improvements have been more evident, concern elastic wave propagation in soil and structures, and acoustic and vibration analysis. During the workshop, experts of innovative mathematical methodologies will face advanced end-users from industry and engineering: participants will try to focus on effective results, real needs and expectations for the middle- and long-term research and development activities, attempting to merge different knowledge and possibly set-up competitive working groups aimed to cross-disciplinary analysis of complex, large scale applications in these fields.
The Pdf. version of some of the lectures is also available online in the Virtual School of the EUA4X E-Atelier
