- Fellowships
- A limited number of fellowships are available for young researchers (PhD candidates and Post-Doc). The details of the grant are as follows:
- cancellation of the regular VKI registration fee (normally 450€)
- additional grant to cover “acceptable costs”.
The additional grant will not be fixed but based on real costs. Acceptable costs are only reimbursed based on receipts. Try to reduce the expenses as much as possible. In this way a maximum number of students will be able to profit from the grants.
Acceptable costs are split in:
- travel costs (max. 220€)
- accommodation costs (max. 300€)
- boarding costs (100€)
Acceptable travel costs are: only airplane (economy at most) and/or train tickets. No taxi, personal car, metro, nor city bus transportation costs can be accepted.
Acceptable accommodation costs are: youth hostel (strongly recommended) or hotel, including breakfast for maximum 5 days. You could reduce the cost by sharing the hotel room with colleague student from the same university. A list of recommended accommodation is available on the VKI web site http://www.vki.ac.be/eua4x/.
The boarding expenses (100€) will be advanced by the VKI to cover the hot lunch together with regular participants and lecturers.
To apply for a fellowship, you are requested to submit to the VKI secretariat (secretariat@vki.ac.be) the completed application form available on http://www.vki.ac.be/eua4x/ - When
-

- Deadlines
- Intial deadline: February 28, 2006. First notification: March 6, 2006. EXTENDED deadline for applications: March 31, 2006. The new applications will be reviewed in the order they are received by VKI, and depending on the remaining budget.
