Event 03: Advanced Finite Element Methods for Continuum Mechanics

Document Actions
This compact course focused on the finite element method applied to non-linear problems, illustrated classical and innovative solution procedures, and pointed out the issues related to the implementation of numerical algorithms. Various topics of discretization techniques for non-linear analysis has been introduced, including: finite kinematics, solution approaches (Total Lagrangian, Update Lagrangian), constitutive models (linear and nonlinear elasticity, rate-independent plasticity, viscoelasticity and viscoplasticity), variational formulations for non linear problems, fracture and adaptive meshing techniques, frictionless and frictional contact problems. The lectures of this course will be soon available online at: http://www.eua4x.net/e-atelier/virtualschool
