The TCN Consortium, project coordinator, was founded in 2001, officially as a Consortium Society with Limited Responsibility. Founding members are: the CRS4 of Cagliari, EnginSoft of Trento, the Fiat Research Center in Orbassano and the ITC-IRST of Trento. The Consortium's objective is the promotion of training activities at various levels relating to the disciplines that adhere to CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), virtual prototyping and testing, numerical simulations, iDP (Intelligent Digital Prototyping), and disciplines which complement or traverse these fields.
The TCN has the objective of creating, through focused training courses, the key resources necessary to ensure and sustain business competition. The Consortium has scheduled for year 2004 around 70 courses and seminars structured; its activities include also the organisation of industrial training camps, scholarships, customised training sessions and being part of national and international educational pilot schemes. The learning opportunity is well articulated and the services offered are complementary: both are guaranteed an adequate and actual working structure that offers the international "learning community" an accessible "knowledge network" of differentiated branches (companies/firms, industries, research centers, and universities) with wide use of distance learning and the possibility for the students to experiment on the subject with the acquired knowledge. On the whole, the consortium constitutes a unique and original entity in a National and European context. For further information on TCN please visit http://www.consorziotcn.it
