The Istituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo (IAC)-Mauro Picone is the oldest and best-known institution in the CNR subnetwork of Institutes for mathematics and computer science. Since its founding in 1927 by Prof. Mauro Picone, this institute has been developing, first in the world, topics in applied mathematics and scientific computing and has been involved in national and international research projects. Among IAC Research topics expertise related to the EUA4X Project deals with numerical grid generation, differential modelling, numerical and visual computing, computational simulation, and interactive system design, all aimed at developing more effective ways to handle application problems.
