Dr. R. M. Spitaleri is senior researcher in scientific computing at CNR IAC. She has been working in the development of numerical methods for structured and unstructured grid generation, along with grid quality measures, and her expertise extends to the numerical approximation of partial differential equations (PDEs) and interactive system design. She is member of Boards of International Societies (IMACS- International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation and ISGG-International Society of Grid Generation) and has served as co-ordinator of both CNR and external projects, organizer of a high number of scientific initiatives in International Conferences, referee of International Journals and Scientifc Committees of International Conferences, Expert Evaluator of European Projects of the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Union, Chair of the IMACS/ISGG Workshop Series MASCOT (MASCOT01, Rome, 2001-MASCOT02, Rome, 2002-MASCOT03, Sardinia, 2003), Editor of Proceedings, Member of the Journal Editorial Board SAMS and Guest Editor of International Journal Special Issues.
